What is a computer?
A computer is an electronic device that manipulates data or information. Computers have basic ability to store, retrieve, and process the relevant data. You can use a computer for anything like typing documents, sending email or browsing the Web etc. It can also be used for handling spreadsheets (excel), accounting, presentations, games, database management and many more.
Computers further simplified
For beginner, the computer can be a mystery electronic device, but it is not that much mysterious. Every computer consist of two basic parts:
Hardware is the physical structure of computer device, for example computer monitor or keyboard and something that shown in image is also Hardware. Image is showing full description about motherboard of computer.
Software is anything like set of instructions or data that direct the hardware what to do and how to do. Software consist of all guidelines to perform the particular task. For example word processors such as Microsoft Word, web browsers, games etc.
